AQL1. Before you delete
AQL does not require an email account. The production app stores journals, drafts and personal practice records on your device. Deleting these records is permanent. Create an encrypted journal backup first if you want to keep your entries and photographs, and store its passphrase safely.
If you want monthly billing to stop, cancel separately through iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions → AQL, or apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions. Deletion is not a cancellation or refund request.
2. Delete inside AQL
Open You → Edit profile → Your data. Select Delete personal data from this device and confirm Delete personal data. The same Your data destination is available from the membership screen without buying or renewing access.
This removes local journals, private Member Reads drafts, practice progress, bookmarks and personal preferences, including local profiles from earlier development builds. The app resets the relevant reminders and shared prayer state. Your Apple purchase remains available; no internet connection or email code is needed for local deletion.
3. Timing and errors
Local deletion runs when you confirm it. If AQL reports that some files could not be removed, do not assume that all personal data was erased. Retry or remove the app’s data through iPhone storage settings. Offloading AQL keeps documents and data and therefore is not a substitute for deletion.
An interrupted or partially failed operation may already have removed some records. Keep a backup before starting. We cannot reconstruct deleted local writing from a server.
4. What deletion does not remove
This action does not cancel Apple subscriptions, erase Apple transaction records, remove your exported backups, delete photographs from your Photos library or delete copies you previously shared. It does not remotely erase other devices or a disconnected Watch.
Downloaded Quran audio is separate and can be removed through the offline library. Remove widgets or Watch complications if you no longer want cached information displayed. Website security logs, support correspondence and independent provider logs have their own retention criteria and legal requirements.
5. Information held by Hereaftercorp
Email Admin@hereaftercorp.com with the subject “AQL privacy request” to request access, correction or deletion of information held by us. Describe the request without sending passwords, verification codes, payment credentials or your whole journal. We verify identity proportionately and respond within applicable legal time limits.
If you created an email account in an earlier development preview, mention that account and request deletion. Updating the app removes its local sign-in dependency but does not silently erase server-side preview records. Use the original email address where possible; if you cannot access it, explain that without sending identity documents in your first message. We cannot remotely retrieve or erase local journal files from your phone.
6. Purchases and returning later
Restore purchases recognises a valid entitlement associated with your Apple Account. You do not need to create an AQL account, and deleting local data does not forfeit a valid Apple purchase. An expired or refunded purchase does not become active by restoring it.
To recover a journal on a new or reset installation, import a backup you previously created. Restoring paid access alone cannot recreate deleted writing. Contact support before paying again if an existing purchase cannot be restored.
